City of East Lansing Cable, Internet & Technology Commission Seeks Applicants
EAST LANSING, Mich. – The City of East Lansing is seeking citizen volunteers to serve on the Cable, Internet & Technology Commission.
There are currently three vacancies on the commission. All interested East Lansing residents are encouraged to apply.
• The Cable, Internet & Technology Commission meets the first Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in Courtroom 2 of the 54-B District Court, 101 Linden St.
• The Cable, Internet & Technology Commission advises the East Lansing City Council on relative technologies within the City’s rights-of-way, policies for use of the public access channel, telecommunications policies and legislation for the City. The commission also resolves disputes between users, subscribers and franchisees; audits franchisee’s records; and promotes the development of regional community media.
• Applications and a more detailed description of the commission’s duties can be found at www.cityofeastlansing.com under “Boards & Commissions” on the DEPT/DIVISIONS drop-down menu. Applications and more information can also be requested at the East Lansing City Council’s office, 410 Abbot Road.
• One application can be used to apply to more than one East Lansing board or commission. Applicants are asked to identify the name of each board or commission they are applying for at the top of the application.
• Applications received in 2009 will be kept on file through 2010 for consideration for any vacancies that may occur.
