Nathaniel Bartlett to Bring Modern Marimba to (SCENE) Metrospace Music Stage

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Nathaniel Bartlett will bring modern marimba music to the (SCENE) Metrospace stage on Thursday, Nov. 20. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the cost is $6.

Bartlett’s marimba sound will be accompanied by three-dimensional and high-definition computer generated sound projection. Bartlett combines modern music with technological advances to compose and perform a unique sound that falls into a genre all its own: modern marimba.

Bartlett’s debut solo marimba album, PRECIPE modern marimba, was released in August 2006. Bartlett’s ultimate goal in recording the project was to create a well-balanced album, not simply a collection of unrelated material. The content of the album, as well as the contents' order, was carefully chosen to form a program with a prelude, interlude and postlude, with two featured works in between. Bartlett has toured across the United States in various art galleries, museums, concert halls and colleges.
