East Lansing Police Department Investigates String of Rental Break-ins
EAST LANSING, Mich. – The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) is currently investigating a string of rental break-ins that have occurred within the City of East Lansing over the past four months.
The break-ins are believed to be connected and have occurred at several apartment complexes in the area. In the majority of cases the break-ins have occurred between midnight and 7 a.m. and have involved unforced entry through unlocked first- and second-story patio doors and windows. In several cases residents have been home when the robberies have occurred.
Items stolen have included flat-screen televisions, video game systems, computers, cell phones, purses, cash and iPods.
ELPD is diligently investigating this string of break-ins and is advising all East Lansing residents to be vigilant in locking all of their windows and doors - including patio doors. Anyone with information about the break-ins is encouraged to call ELPD Det. Jeff Walsh at (517) 319-6852.
