Cedar Fest Sentencing Update: Three More Individuals Sentenced to Jail Terms

 
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Three individuals convicted of criminal offenses perpetrated during the recent Cedar Fest riot in East Lansing have been sentenced to jail terms.

Tyler Cizek, a 20-year-old from West Olive, was sentenced to 20 days in the Ingham County Jail on Wednesday, Aug. 20 for illegally throwing an object during Cedar Fest. Cizek entered a plea of guilty to the misdemeanor offense and his sentence was imposed Monday, Aug. 25 by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge David L. Jordon.

In addition to his jail term, Cizek was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay $2,224.40 in fines, costs and assessments, including $1,074.40 in restitution for expenses incurred by the City of East Lansing, expenses incurred by assisting agencies and damage to private property during the riot. He was also ordered to complete 80 hours of community service, complete a substance abuse treatment program and submit to random urinalysis and breath testing to confirm his abstinence from alcohol and illegal drugs during the probation period. Cizek is prohibited from entering on to any Michigan public community college, college or university campus for one year.

Christopher Hall, a 19-year-old from Rockford, was sentenced to 30 days in the Ingham County Jail on Wednesday, Aug. 20 for obstructing and resisting a police officer in the performance of the officer's duties during Cedar Fest. Hall entered a plea of guilty to the misdemeanor offense and his sentence was imposed Monday, Aug. 25 by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge Richard Ball.

In addition to his jail term, Hall was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay $1,744.40 in fines, costs and assessments, including $1,074.40 in restitution for expenses incurred by the City of East Lansing, expenses incurred by assisting agencies and damage to private property during the riot. Hall was also ordered to submit to random urinalysis or breath testing to confirm his abstinence from alcohol and illegal drugs during the two-year probation period and he is prohibited from entering on to any Michigan public college or university campus for a period of one year. Hall is permitted to enter a community college campus after his release from jail.

Anthony Zobro, a 19-year-old from Grand Rapids, was sentenced to 20 days in the Ingham County Jail Wednesday, Aug. 20 for public intoxication and endangering the safety of another person or property during Cedar Fest. Zobro's sentence was imposed Monday, Aug. 25 by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge David L. Jordon.

In addition to his jail term, Zobro was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay $2,214.40 in fines, costs and assessments, including $1,074.40 in restitution for expenses incurred by the City of East Lansing, expenses incurred by assisting agencies and damage to private property during the riot.

Zobro was granted work release during his incarceration and was further ordered to complete 80 hours of community service. Zobro was also ordered to submit to random urinalysis or breath testing to confirm his abstinence from alcohol and illegal drugs during the two-year probation period. Zobro is prohibited from entering on to any Michigan public college or university campus for a period of one year.
