Cedar Fest Sentencing Update: Two More Individuals Sentenced to Jail Terms

 
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Two men convicted of criminal offenses perpetrated during the recent Cedar Fest riot in East Lansing have been sentenced to jail terms.

Travis Blackledge, an 18-year-old from Novi, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of throwing a missile or other object at another person. Blackledge was sentenced to 30 days in the Ingham County Jail on Monday, July 28 by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge David L. Jordon.

Blackledge was also ordered to pay $2,214.40 in fines, costs and assessments, including $1,074.40 in restitution for expenses incurred by the City of East Lansing, expenses incurred by assisting agencies and damage to private property during the riot. He was also placed on probation for two years, ordered to complete 80 hours of community service and ordered to complete a counseling program. Blackledge is prohibited from entering any Michigan public community college, college or university campus prior to December 1, 2008.

Mark Danner, a 23-year-old from Livonia, was sentenced Wednesday, Aug. 30 to 21 days in the Ingham County Jail by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge Richard Ball. He entered a plea of guilty to the criminal offense of obstructing and hindering a police officer during the riot.

Danner was credited with seven days jail, which he was required to serve after violating a bond condition that prohibited him from consuming alcohol while his case was pending. Danner is required to pay fines and costs in the amount of $1,614.40, including $1,074.40 in restitution for expenses incurred by the City of East Lansing, expenses incurred by assisting agencies and damage to private property during the riot. Danner was also placed on probation for one year and is prohibited from entering a Michigan public college, community college or university for a period of one year.
