Cedar Fest Sentencing: 18-Year-Old Sentenced to 25 Days in Jail, $2,384 in Fines
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Nicholas Pentecost, an 18-year-old East Lansing man, who pleaded guilty to assembling for purposes of a riot during the Cedar Fest riot in East Lansing April 6, was sentenced Monday, July 28 to 25 days in jail by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge David L. Jordon.
Pentecost was also ordered to pay $2,384.40 in fines, costs and assessments, including $1,074.40 in restitution for expenses incurred by the City of East Lansing, expenses incurred by assisting agencies and damage to private property during the riot.
Pentecost was placed on probation for 24 months, ordered to complete 80 hours of community service and ordered to complete a substance abuse treatment program. Additional conditions of Pentecost’s probation include random PBTs and no use of alcohol or illegal drugs. He is also banned from entering alcohol establishments during the term of his probation and is prohibited from entering any Michigan public community college, college or university campus for one year.
